Manager, Marketing, Communication and Product Development, Job in Kenya

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Officer – Business and Strategy, the incumbent will be responsible for planning, development and implementation of the Bank’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal as well as oversee the development and implementation of support materials and services in marketing, communications, and public relations.

Main Duties:

Participate in the development, planning and execution of the Bank’s marketing plan, policies and process.

Understand the value drivers of the business and identify profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market share.Proactively develop and implement advanced analytical techniques to increase understanding of customers and prospects and identify risks and opportunities in customer behavior.

Work closely with the business departments to improve turnover and profitability.

Maintains research database by identifying and assembling market information.

Lead the development of innovative products in line with identified customer requirements through market research to increase market share and bottom line.

Influences present and future products by determining and evaluating current and future market trends.


Provide planning and leadership to the Marketing Department by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed to meet and exceed the goals of the Marketing plan.

Spearhead the generation of creative marketing initiatives, new promotional ideas and approaches to communicate with our consumer audience.

Undertake market research and analysis and produce business plans/recommendations to ensure that all business development opportunities are optimized.

Ensure further development of the website and other online platforms to enhance direct sales.

Establish and strengthen partnering relationships with agents, managers, customers and suppliers.

Assist in cost analysis of contracted business and generate business cases for conducting business in new markets.

Maintain an awareness of external factors which impact the business.

Minimum qualification and experience required:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Graduate degree in a related field is desirable.

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in marketing, communications, or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the banking or financial sector, 3 of which must be in a managerial position.

Membership in Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) and MSK accreditation are desirable.

Digital Marketing, Media interaction and Creative designing.

Key Competencies

Knowledge and experience in modern sales & marketing practices in financial services industry to provide visionary guidance on strategic changes to drive liabilities.

Interpersonal skills to create and maintain relevant business networks; and to effectively communicate with and manage customer expectations (internal and external), and other stakeholders who impact performance.

Knowledge of banking products and competitors’ sales approach.

Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures and guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.

Proven leadership, communications, negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills, with an overall customer-centric focus and orientation.

Should possess high levels of strategic thinking.

Strong market research & statistical analysis skills.

Capable of handling multiple and complex situations simultaneously and providing recommendations for solutions.

Experience in leading, motivating, coaching, and develop a team.

Financial awareness

Must be hands on who can deliver results.
